Heard Steven getting his send off at 5am, having fallen asleep not too long before myself. I was thankful that breakfast wasn’t until 9:30am. Groggily threw my kit together and headed down to throw my bags into the van to be carted over to Teatr Kana. Koby had the bright idea to go and get some water. Asia, Kathleen, Alicia and I tagged along for a very roundabout search for water before we headed over to re-unite with the rest of the group.
After a quick breakfast we headed over for a tour of the local puppet theater. They had a beautiful facility and some gorgeous puppets. I was starting to run low on tape and battery so did not record as much as I would have liked.

Back over to Teatr Kana for a round table with representatives of most of the groups that had performed during the festival. It was a strange event and very hard to film from within the audience. A continuous English-Polish-English translation was conducted by a man in a sound booth just to the left of the audience. Everyone in the audience was supplied with a headset and receiver. With all of the headphones belting out the translator, it was hard at times to make out what the original speaker was saying. What they were saying was not all that profound however. The nearly two-hour meeting consisted of all of the representatives introducing themselves and talking a little about their group. It got progressively hotter as the event wore on. After the event we cleared out for a bit before coming back inside to talk with Teatr Kana. Zigmund talked quite a bit about his inspiration and the code he conducts his theater by. He had some very responsible ideas about respecting the audience that had come and given their money and time to the company. Darek and Marek, the other two directors talked a little bit. There was some attempt to show us some video of their work, but their projector kept overheating and shutting off.

Eventually it was time for us to head to the train station for the next leg of our journey. Marek helped us get all of our stuff loaded and unloaded from their van. We jumped on board the train a little better organized than our first trip. We all have sleeping bunks to our overnight ride to Wrocław. Precisely at 11:30pm we took off. Sheila, Koby, Asia and I shared a six-person sleeper with two strangers. I got scolded for putting my foot on one of the seats that was to become a ladies bed later on. We took a while getting settled. The other stranger was a nice gentleman that spent a while explaining about how to secure the cabin with an extra chain. Recalling my friend Sylvia’s experience with thieves stealing from every other cabin but hers on a trip she took, I was happy that he reminded us all about how to keep the cabin secure.
