Had a little more leisurely start with breakfast in the theater before we headed out to take in the Warszawa Uprising Museum. We had to take a couple of buses, do some walking and eventually take cabs to make it to the museum in time for our 11am appointment. We met Margaret’s cousin Karol, who gave us a little tour before turning us loose to look at the exhibits on our own. We stopped for some refreshments at their café and then resumed the guided tour. Sheila and her pals took off without letting anyone know they had left. We waited for them for a bit before Asia called Joanna who called Isabel and back through the chain to ascertain their whereabouts.

Bears by the roadside. At the Warszawa Uprising Museum. Got a tour from Margaret's cousin Karol who works on programming there.
A short cab ride brought us to the Jewish Ghetto Monument and proposed home for a museum. The monument was a giant concrete slab with metal bas-relief on the front and back. This was placed at one side of a large park surrounded by crumbling bloki. We hiked back toward Stary Miasto to look at the St. Anne cathedral. Grabbed a delicious falafel at Kebab King before heading back to Teatr Rampa for the farewell feast that Joanna and Wojciech were preparing. We had a little bit to nosh on before we headed over to the Pruderia club for the proper farewell party.

The Warszawa Ghetto monument. A decaying blok. Sign for the future home of the Jewish History Museum. The Mermaid mascot of Warszawa. Our little group a little turned around.
The cab ride seemed to go on forever. We got a little nervous when our destination seemed to be a series of biker bars. The club, once we finally arrived at it was what appeared to be some sort of bunker. We sat down and had a round of drinks. Joanna had arranged for me to spin a set. I got set up and played for about an hour. Most of crew got up and danced for a bit. The next act seemed anxious to get going so I ended when they asked me to. The violin, upright bass and MPC trio turned out to be quite atrocious. Sheila, Alicia and Laura had to catch a train to Berlin so we saw them off and then went outside. One of Asia’s childhood friends, Halszka, the daughter of the former Polish Consul in Los Angeles, showed up. She and Asia caught up for a bit before Koby lit into her with a stream of questions about Jews in Poland. We finally got a cab back around 1am.

Asia and her childhood friend Halszka, the daughter of the former Polish Consul in LA. In the middle of my set at the Pruderia Club.
