Up at 9am. We got ready slowly and made our way over to the new square to get some snacks. Hiked back over to the train station and barely made the 11:24am express back to Warszawa. We spent most of the trip chatting and enjoying the scenery.

Toruń by day.
Got into Warszawa around 2:30pm. Waited in line for a good 45 minutes to get Asia’s ticket to Gdansk. We grabbed some falafel and a grilled sandwich before heading over to Joanna and Wojciech’s apartment. Joanna had fallen ill right after we left the pervious morning. At first she had flu-like symptoms but had just been diagnosed with bronchitis. The doctor was still there when we arrived. I helped Asia get her things organized for her trip north and then went with her back to the train station. Her 4:25pm train arrived and it was time to bid her goodbye. It was hard parting with such a fine traveling companion. Promises to meet in Los Angeles were made and the train moved on.

Asia on the train for Gdansk.
I wandered outside in the rain a little ways before finding an Internet café. Spent half an hour getting some correspondence taken care of. Emailed fALk to make arrangements for our meeting in Berlin. Spent the next two hours hiking to Blue City and one of the Handlowes (shopping center). It turned out not to be the handlowe that housed the MediaMarkt store. After I had had my fill of hiking around, I grabbed a taxi and got to the right place in another 30 minutes. Got some more video tape and a converter plug. Headed back to Wojciech and Joanna’s apartment on the tram. Got there a bit after 9pm to find the both of them crashed out. Dumped by things and headed over to the Stary Miasto to see if the Kebab King was still open. I was in luck and was able to get two of the tastiest falafels in town. Returned to the apartment just after 10pm and worked on getting pictures backed up until midnight.

A rainbow seen hiking to the tram station.
