Up at 08:30 to fight with my computer some more. Got everything up to where I thought it should be to get the cms to work, but it just wouldn't load properly. Headed down to the Kumquat to check my email and research cell phones. Looked like a toss up between the Motorola Razr V3 and the Sony Ericcson K750i. Ran into Michael on the way back. Stopped and got a Turkcell sim card and some air time. Will plug them into the spare phone that he has until I can get over to EminönĂ¼ and hunt for a good price on what I want.
fALk was waiting when I got back. We continued to hack at the site for a bit before heading back down to the Kumquat to see if the developer of the cms, xsiter, was online. Fortunately he was online and answered fALk's query pretty quickly. We needed to turn on some options on the php server. I downloaded some of the example sites while I waited for fALk to finish up several chats. Willow came by, followed by Rashid and not long after, Ali. There was a great deal of tension in the air because it had finally begun to dawn on Willow that Ali was after much more than being nice to foreigners. Since meeting us through Rashid on the 25th, he had given her a phone, tried to take her out to an evening of theater but ending up having an expensive dinner where he professed his love for her, and called Michael several times in hopes of getting hold of her. She ended up writing him a note explaining in her best dyslexic english that they could only be friends. The situation got even more tense when he went over the note and corrected what she had written. We all headed out, Willow to eat somewhere and fALk and I back to the house to see if we could get xsiter to work with our newly gained knowledge.

Today had some sort of national significance. Every major structure had flags draped over or dangling from it.
Got the flags set in the php.ini file and the server restarted. Looked at the site again and viola, it worked. Spent the next two hours getting it tweaked out the way we wanted and moved in. We had a rough layout made and all of the content we had worked out filled in by the time Michael got back from an appointment with dDf. Michael had some good news from his meeting. dDf has asked him to come on board to help them with their new campaign for the Turkish Tourism industry. He showed off my blog which they really liked. Looks like we might get to do some work on the project as well. Spent the rest of the evening making more tweaks to the site. Renee and Willow went out for a bit and returned with cakes and fruit. We had a short break to consume some of it with them before returning to our site. Finished up around 02:30.

The Artificial Eyes website, coming soon to a screen near you.

Before and after cake.
