Up at 10:00. Had a quick cold shower and puttered around the house for a while, working on the blog and cleaning. Headed down to the Kumquat with fALk and Willow around 14:30 to upload and check in with the world. Got my business done quickly and waited for the others to finish up before going back by the house. Dropped off our laptops and headed up the hill toward Yıldız Parkı, a huge municipal park not far to the west of the house. Spent a couple of hours relaxing and exploring. Found a little refreshment area that served gözleme, a quesadilla-like pastry with a variety of stuffings. We got sugared ones first and then a potato stuffed one. Hiked around for a bit more before working our way downhill to Çirağan Cad, the main drag back to Ortaköy. Took a stroll by the sea before going back to the house.

Had a very brief nap before gathering my stuff together to go down to the Kumquat and get some more work done. fALk got a call that woke him from his nap. He could not figure out why a lady would want to meet him at the Kumquat. I figured it must have been Fulya, who had mentioned the previous evening that there was a nice hike going east from Ortaköy. Sure enough when I got down to the Kumquat, there was Michael, Yeşim and Fulya. They all thought it was a riot that Fulya had talked to fALk the whole time.
Had a very nice hike to Bebek, the next town down the coast from Ortaköy. We passed half-a-dozen clubs along the way that at first I mistook for car dealerships. All of them had their edifices completely covered in billboard sized car ads. They also all had a car out on display in front. Apparently everything in Turkey is available for sponsorship. We caught the bus back and joined Michael and Yeşim for a dinner of gözleme. Dropped Yeşim off and the taxi and Fulya by her apartment before heading back to the house at 00:30.
