A day at Kumquat

Up before 08:00. Finished cleaning up from the previous night's late dinner. Headed down to the Kumquat around 10:00. Got set up in my usual corner. Eda came by around 11:00. Went over to Beltaş with her again. The Bosphorus was much calmer. Enjoyed watching the ships go by. Headed back to the Kumquat and didn't move much other than to go out for a late lunch. People came and went around me throughout the day. Yeşim arrived around noon. There was talk of going to see part of the Rock n Coke event. Tickets were no longer available for the day that everyone wanted to go. Michael came by a bit later. He had managed to get Renee on a plane. fALk and Willow were next. Wrestled with xsiter for the rest of the afternoon. Managed to get the database populated with our data. Seemed the encoding for the mysql dump was causing problems. Got some tips from the developer on things to look out for with php implementations. Still working on getting it to work properly on my server. Eda left to go and work at her studio for a while. The local advertising representative for Philip Morris came by and talked with Michael for a while. Michael was trying to get them to sponsor the big gallery event that Yeşim was organizing. Eda was back at 16:30 to meet one of her painting instructors who came by the Kumquat. fALk and Willow left to have dinner. Serkan showed up and the five of us left went to dinner at Cafe Creme. Had some delicious basil stuffed ravioli with eggplant and olives. Hung out until about 22:00. Walked with Michael and Yeşim to find the post office a couple of streets over. Swung back by the Kumquat to get the artificialeyes.tv domain registered for our group. Headed home afterwards and watched part of Lagos Wide and Close, a DVD documenting Rem Koolhaus' research into the Nigerian city of Lagos, which is predicted to be the third largest in the world in 10 years time.

Eda trying to cut her fingers off building a Japanese house out of balsa. The dinner group at Cafe Creme with Serkan toasting with his head (A very localized tradition for situations where one doesn't have a drink.) and Michael and Yeşim hamming it up.
