Up at 08:00. Watched most of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the bootleg disc crapped out towards the end). Spent the rest of the day digging around in some Max patches designed by Pascal of 3rd-design.

Seen on Istiklal Cad, a tower of pistachio sweets dripping with honey.
Headed out with Michael at 22:00 to go and see his friend Ari play at AUF a club off Istiklal Cad in Beyoğlu. Stopped for dinner in Beşiktaş. Michael decided he would go back and spend the evening with Yeşim. I continued on alone. Spent a while finding the club and upon locating it was rebuffed at the door for being too early. Wandered around for a bit and returned at midnight. It was fairly quiet when I arrived. A female DJ, whose name I unfortunately did not catch was spinning CDs. Most of it was straightforward electro. I felt compelled to get up and dance when she threw on Charlie's 'Spacer Woman,' one of my recent favorites. Ari wasn't able to go on because there were no needles for the turntables.
Orgue Electronique from The Hague was up next. He played a nice set with Live. Some needles were found and Disc Jockey Ari was able to put on a burner of a set. He had some really good electro tracks that got the whole club moving.

At AUF. Brian Chinetti (Orgue Electronique.) VJ Automata who was using Arkaos VJ. Disc Jockey Ari and his case emblazoned with Osman (Ari's Turkishized version of Shepard Fairey's Obey Giant stickers.
Midway through Ari's set I was approached by a girl who wanted to know where I was from. She was from Ankara and in post-production. She introduced me to the group that she was with. One of the other ladies in the group asked if I was American and after I replied positively, asked if I would buy her and another friend a drink simply because "You are rich, you are an American." I did not find this particularly amusing and declined the offer and a further offer to go to another place afterwards. Hung out until the other group left and then started back to Ortaköy at 03:00. Got back at 04:00.
