Up at 08:00. Finished touching up one roto piece and completed another. Headed over to dda at 11:00 for a morning meeting. The offices were deserted save for the cleaning ladies going about their duties. People started trickling in around 11:30. Spent part of the time trying to repair some headphones for Duygu. Apparently word of my exploits in getting Ali's iPod fixed had spread. Alas, I wasn't able to fix the headphones, not for lack of trying, but lack of tools (need a little more than a pocket knife to fix wiring.) A long discussion over Turkish and Western responses to advertising ensued once Michael revealed what we had been working on. Armağan appeared in the window with dramatic flare at 13:00.

At dda to present some looks for one of the pitch ideas. Armağan making his entrance.
Finally got away at 13:45. Ran into a protest about the situation in Palenstine and Iraq on the way over to Indigo. We peeked inside Indigo. With a week to go before the opening night, it looked a little like it would not be ready in time. There was a nice booth at the back of the house for us, but there was a pillar strategically placed exactly between where we would stand and the screen we would project on. Stopped by Dogz Star to see if Cansu or any of the Osman Production folks were around. They were all elsewhere, so we made arrangements to be at Jackie's Groove at two hours ahead of the 23:00 start time for the party.

A protest against the situation in Palestine and Iraq.

The renovations at Indigo were still underway. Hopefully to be completed for the opening night, less than a week away. View from the stage with our booth on the left and screen on the right. Looking back at the stage. Our booth at the back of the house. Looking onto the dance-floor from the booth.
Back at the house, we spent the rest of the afternoon getting organized for the Osman Productions show. Had a big dinner at Memet Usta. There were a lot more vegetarian things available this go round. Had some lentil soup and a veggie kofte made with grains. Gathered our stuff up and headed out at 21:00. Swung by the Kumquat and then jumped in a taxi to Beyoğlu. When we arrived they were just getting the projector organized. Michael was disappointed to find that it was an older one that didn't seem to have very high output. We set about getting it positioned where we wanted it and getting a table organized to set up our gear on. We had a bounty of stuff to get hooked up. Our rig included three Powerbooks, one Alienware laptop, two Edirol V4 mixers, one V1, two iSight cameras and a Evolution X-Session Midi controller. After the gear was all arranged, we got a screen taped up. I didn't have much hope that it would still be up by the end of the evening, but we rolled it up and taped it as best we could. (It did stay up the whole night.)
DJ Buraque started off the evening with some slower electro tunes. The party got really going when Cansu began her set at 01:00. She was decked out in a huge cape made from thin semi-opaque plastic. She was followed by Ege who took things up to around 140 BPM and never came down. Disc Jockey Ari finished off the evening with his set from 03:30 to 04:30.

At Osman Productions 3rd Anniversary party. Michael and Cansu playing with spinning light toys and the iSight camera. Despite our initial misgivings about the projector, it did a good job of lighting the room. Taylan and I mixing it up. Cansu decked out in her plastic sheeting cape.
Michael and I were joined by Taylan, a local VJ. He sat by us for the first hour and then jumped on the rig and found his way pretty quickly. The look of the evening changed radically from what we had planned, but we had fun nonetheless. We broke down quickly and said our goodbyes. I got christened with Ege's drink on the way out. Got back to Ortaköy at 05:30.

I don't care if you did Photoshop yourself into that protest scene, it still feels like something and you look great.
