Up at 08:00. Puttered around the office before getting down to work on a bunch of rotoscoping for the Turkish tourism campaign. Took a break around 16:00 to have some food at Café Creme. Ran back down to the Kumquat with the yoga mats that Yeşim had let us borrow as makeshift beds. Unfortunately, I had scooped them up without looking at them too closely and it turned out that the ones that fALk and Willow had used were covered on one side with a sticky substance that resembled spray glue. Went back down to the Kumquat to retrieve the mats and then back to the house to clean them up. This took about 1.5 hours, as the sticky gunk on the mats was difficult to remove. While this was going on, Michael got an email from Johnny DeKam, who had seen the picture of Michael talking with Pascal from the 18th. He was concerned that we were lifting ideas from software he had given to Michael. Our project with Pascal was suddenly in jeopardy. Michael spent the next hour chatting with Johnny to smooth things over and come to a mutual understanding. We had no intention of copying Johnny's software, but were using it to point out other 3D VJ applications and interface design within the MAX environment.
After I finished with the mats, we headed down to join Yeşim, Serkan, Fulya and another of their friends at Şazeli for dinner. Now that Fall was approaching, it was possible to get a delicious lentil soup. Went over to Kumquat for a coffee and chatted for a bit with everyone.

At Şazeli for dinner. Yeşim waiting (im)patiently for me to quit screwing around taking pictures so that desert could be devoured
Headed back up to the house to meet with Pascal. He had another revision of the 3D VJ application. We put it through its paces on my G5 and it worked quite well, pumping out 60 fps with some really complex geometry. On the Powerbook it was quite a bit slower, with less than half the geometry, it chugged along at 10 fps. Pascal left around midnight. I worked until 02:00 on rotoscoping.

Output from the beginnings of our 3D VJ app.
