Up at 10:00. Made it down to the Kumquat by noon to get hooked into the Internet. Spent the rest of the afternoon working on various websites and answering emails.
Michael came by around 14:00 to see if would join him in visiting his friend Gamze, the co-founder of Kop-Art, to see the storefront that she and her roommate Zeynep were starting to put together. I had heard a great deal about Gamze and seen some of her clothing, so I agreed without hesitation. We headed over to Galatasaray and found the house, but no one was in. Called Gamze to find that she and Zeynep and a couple other friends were nearby. The Galatasaray Girl Gang showed up a little while later. In addition to Gamze and Zeynep, there was Aslı, freshly returned from a seven year stay in New York, unfortunately to be with her mother as she passed on, and Can.
Zeynep and her mother own the building that she and Gamze live in and plan to open the store in. The basement will be devoted to the store and the first floor will serve as the office. The ladies were interested in hearing Michael's ideas on what to do with the space. He talked about lighting and traffic flow for some time and complained about Turkish construction. Some of the walls were already sealed up with ridiculous arrangements of PVC pipe being routed around them.
After a tour of both floors we all enjoyed tea and conversation with the group. Michael and I headed on our way a little after 17:00.
Michael in front of Gamze's apartment. The future store will be behind the ground level gate. The raw interior of the store.
Michael putting in his two cents worth of suggestions for the store layout. View up through the first floor.
In the future office for the store.
Socks or booties were required to enter the living space. Hanging out in Gamze's room.
Gamze's view with the plastic dress that Cansu had worn at the Osman Productions 3rd Year Party. The Galatasaray Girl Gang in all its splendor.
Michael had an interview with a new writer at Radikal. I took the opportunity to study a bit more and then dive into the Motion End User exam. I breezed through the questions in a little over an hour and was confident that I had done well. I was shocked to find that I had failed the test by a small margin. I immediately re-took the test and was utterly dismayed to find that I did even worse. Questioning my sanity a little, I packed it in for the night.
