Spent a raining morning at the Kumquat getting a PowerPoint presentation put together for the evenings VJ workshop. Scoured sites of all the relevant hardware manufacturers for information on and pictures of their equipment. Michael came by around 14:00 with news that I leak had sprung up next to my desk. He assured me that everything was secured and fine. Had a pretty comprehensive document put together by the time Pascal called just before 16:00 to say that he was at the house.
Upon getting into the office, I was dismayed to find new leaks providing near constant rain on my monitor and keyboard. Several excited moments were spent scurrying around getting things moved out of the way and the water mopped up as well as photo documentation being taken. Got my desk re-arranged and moved completely out of harms way.
The new leak in the ceiling produced a nice steady stream of rain on my Cinema Display. Some of the rain-soaked items on my desk.
Once that excitement was over, Pascal loaded up the latest build of 3L, the real-time 3D VJ application that we have been working on with him. Some really cool new features had been added and things rearranged. There was now a preview window and all of the primitives could be rendered in colored wireframe. Some basic transfer modes were available as well.
Gathered up the bounty of gear that we would show off for the evenings VJ Workshop on hardware. The PowerPoint took much less time to go through than either of us had anticipated. Once we were done with the lecture portion, all of the gear was turned around and the students were free to try their hand at it.
Most of the students jumped right in and started mucking about. It became a little chaotic with a group playing with Touch, another playing with Cosmic Painter and someone playing with the V-4 mixer. Not sure how much anyone was able to follow what was being projected on the screen.
Elvan, Michael, Burcu, Kaya, and Gökçe playing with the gear. Everyone got in on the action.
